Consulting
WoM provides consulting in drawing up gender equality and diversity plans. For public sector and projects, we provide consultancy in gender mainstreaming.
WoM is experienced in consulting gender mainstreaming and gender equality assessment in projects, such as projects funded by European Social Fund (see the publication below).
Research work
WoM has experience in conducting studies, reports and publications related to gender equality. Research work at WoM is based on academic knowledge and firm experience. The data can be collected, for example, through interviews or online surveys. Below, you can find examples of publications WoM Oy has participated in writing in English.
In addition, WoM has been a senior researcher or a national consult in several research projects ordered by EIGE (European Institute for Gender Equality). For example, WoM was a senior researcher in a study to review the implementation of the Beijing Platform for Action in the EU – ‘Beijing + 25’. The research project was managed by ICF International.

Finland in the International Human Rights System
What Finland could do better for supporting human rights internationally? This report answers the question through summarising implications of the current operational environment for the international human rights system since the Government of Finland human rights report in 2014. The project focused particularly on four global trends (environmental change, migration, new technologies and the changing security paradigm), and assessed also political power shifts and movements influencing the international human rights system and its actors. The scope of the study included the United Nations and its human rights council and the European Union.
The research was part of the Finnish Government’s analysis, assessment and research activities. The Prime minister’s office funded the project, while the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland was responsible for its coordination.

Gender equality and Nordic welfare societies
Is the Nordic welfare model gender equal or not? What kind of new challenges do the changes in the Nordic welfare policies and operating environment cause from the gender equality perspective? This essay aims to answer those questions, and provides an analysis of the current strengths, weaknesses and challenges that Nordic societies face in realizing gender equality. The essay is based on recent Nordic literature on gender equality and welfare society and the analysis draws also on interviews with a few researchers and other experts.

Gender mainstreaming in development programming is discussed in chapter 3, gender mainstreaming in ESF (European Social Fund) and ERDF (European Regional Development Fund) is discussed in chapter 4.
The guide was written on the basis of the EU’s structural fund programmes, but is suitable for everyone involved in the planning, implementation and assessment of various development programmes and projects, and for authorities and elected officials. The guide was produced by the Gender Mainstreaming Programme Valtava development programme (MEE) training and consulting project, by KoulutusAvain Ltd and WoM Ltd.

A compact equality planning guide especially for companies in technology industries. The guide explains step by step how to draw up an equality plan in cooperation with staff representatives.
The guide has been written as a part of The Developing Euqlity in Technology Industries in Finland (2005-2007) project. The project was implemented by WoM World of Management Ltd in cooperation with the Federation of Finnish Technolgohy Industries, the Finnish Metalworkers’ Union and the Union of Salaried Employees.
